Syncing multiple laptop setups

Hey new friends!

Have any of you tried using something like this http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/iConnMIDI4L to sync up multiple laptop based setups? It looks way too good to be true, especially at that price...

More importantly, once I start networking computers together to make music, won't that result in a Cylon uprising? I'm scared but excited

This looks interesting, especially for running synced reactive visuals! Definitely going to peek more into it.
I think the singularity is already upon us, so it's probably inconsequential anyway.
